Introduction

Unless otherwise indicated, all Scripture quotations are taken from the New American Standard Bible.

Hi, I'm Rebecca. This blog will mostly be about my own observations about what is happening in the world, including interaction with material from other sources and engaging a diverse amount of views. Above all, I want to stress my firm belief in the sovereignty of God, the Creator of the universe who rescued me from the eternal consequences of my sins.

I'm a follower of Jesus who believes everything listed below (the list is not exhaustive):

1. The Bible is "inspired by God" (literally, God-breathed; Greek: θεόπνευστος, which comes from θεός [God] and πνευμα [breath/wind/spirit]) and is "profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in rigteousness, so that the person of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work" (2 Timothy 3:16-17; my own translation).
2. The relationship between God and humankind was broken when humans sinned (Genesis 3). Sin, or chatat (חטאת), is a "miss" of the mark of God's holy standard. All of us "have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23), and the wages of sin is death (6:23). So because God is just, breaking His Law results in death. But there is good news: Because God loved the world in spite of its sin and rebellion, He sent His Son to pay the penalty for our sin (1 John 4:10). Now, whoever believes in Him will have eternal life (John 3:16), and "there is now no condemnation for those who are in [Messiah] Jesus" (Romans 8:1).
I plan to update this blog regularly. May God richly bless everyone's day!
In Him,
Becca
